Motivation is a complex methodology that is a crucial part in any business cycle. There are different strategies because one strategy does not work for all individuals, as it depends upon their characteristics too.

For instance, you give incentives to a certain staff but not all incentives work on all individuals. Here is a list documented that give you some tips on motivating at workplace. You can use these tips for most of members in your team depending on their personal and professional characteristics.

Always Start with Yourself

To motivate others, you have to be motivated yourself. If a negative situation arises, it must be the managers or leaders’ responsibility to see all positives in all situations. As a role model, whenever you are energetic and inviting, your team will have confidence in you and will follow all those positive aspects in you.

Share the Information

When you are running a department, it is extremely important to share information that would help them accomplish their work. The most important of these, is the project details perhaps, which could lead the team in coming up with good suggestions. This way, you give them a sense of responsibility and accountability.

Point out Milestones

By pointing out milestone, team members would realize that you appreciate their work. In most cases, you could arrange a special celebration for reaching milestones on time. Plan work parties ahead of time so work won’t be affected.

Show Appreciation to Team Members

Even the small tasks needs to be appreciated as it would make them even more motivated when bigger tasks come. As a means of showing appreciation you can constantly say “thank you” or “you did a great job.” While communicating, choose your words wisely; be humble, use words like we instead of I.

Evaluate and Provide Feedback

Evaluation would enable members to know where they went wrong and how to speed up work processes. As such, evaluation must be done right, be careful not to blame them but instead work and monitor task closely to make sure goals are hit.

They have passed along that piece of wisdom because the reality speaks that – it is just one year of experience multiplied twenty times over.

As a professional, you have to take deliberate steps to continually consider REALLY improving one’s self. You have to consider the questions listed below for you to really acquire the twenty years of experience:

What new skills, learning, capabilities, knowledge, and accomplishment have I demonstrated in the past years?

What are the new opportunities that came to your professional career from the new experience and knowledge that you have gained?

What are the things that need to be done to increase the likelihood I’ll be developing additional valuable skills?

By asking the questions, if you happen to have great and positive answers for each, then you must have truly gained a true EXPERIENCE. Remember, that you owe it to yourself to take deliberate steps to rectify before you fall trap in a professional career that just multiplies your same experience over and over again.

Have you ever thought what the possible solutions are for these? Well, to be able to accomplish your objective in gaining new life-long learning and knowledge, you have to work to redesign your job either formally or informally. Working to redesign job simply means that you need to have a specific strategy in accomplishing your goals. Strategize based on the external and internal factors affecting it.

Moreover, another solution would be to step forward and be very participative, but not reactive. You can share you point of views and opinions in a constructive manner. Sharing point of views need not be contradicting the idea of your head, but simply sighting examples on why you believe your alternative might just be the right solution.

If you haven’t done your part in assessing yourself, there is no other time for you to do it but now!
